KVM-GO Production Progress Update #2
Design Details Locked In, Batch Staging in Place, and Production Moving Forward
Hi backers. Here is our second production progress update with clearer, more verifiable snapshots from manufacturing prep. The short version is that KVM-GO is moving steadily through production, key mechanical decisions are locked, and multiple parts are already in production or staged in repeatable batches for assembly and packaging.
One usability refinement we finalized in this round is the connector cap anti-loss tether. The connector cap can store two microSD cards and is a frequently-handled removable part, so the tether helps prevent it from being misplaced during everyday workflows.

1) Industrial Design Convergence (Connector Cap and Tether Finalized)
New-version exterior snapshot. Connector cap anti-loss tether is now part of the finalized design for day-to-day reliability.
We continue converging details across HDMI / DP / VGA to keep assembly and QC consistent at scale. Since the connector cap is small and frequently removed for microSD access, the tether makes the workflow remove cap, access or swap microSD, and reinstall safer and less error-prone.
2) Batch Staging (Connector Cap Tethers Ready for Packaging)
Connector cap tethers staged in counted batches, ready for packaging and repeatable assembly flow.
To match production workflows, we are staging accessories in clean, countable batches. This reduces packing mistakes and supports a more repeatable QA process.
3) Markings and Documentation (Open Source Labeling Becoming More Complete)
Enclosure markings and open-source labeling are being finalized to keep delivered units clear, consistent, and compliant.
Beyond hardware, we are refining labeling and open-source related markings to make each delivered unit clearer and more standardized, while continuing OSHWA-related preparations.
4) Assembly Readiness (Hardware Staged for Consistency Checks)
Assembly hardware is staged for upcoming build consistency checks and repeatable QC steps.
Staging fasteners and small hardware early helps keep assembly stable, reduces rework, and supports consistent QC verification.
5) VGA Variant Assembly Prep (Hardware and Tools Ready)
VGA variant assembly prep is staged to keep builds consistent and servicing straightforward.
VGA-specific assembly prep is being staged in parallel so we can run verification builds and keep QC steps consistent across variants.
6) Plastics Progress (Back Cover Production Completed)
Back cover production is completed in batches, providing a stable foundation for the next assembly steps.
On the plastics side, back cover production is complete. This helps stabilize assembly rhythm and enables more repeatable fit-and-finish validation.
7) Plastics Progress (Black Nylon Front Cover In Progress)
Black nylon front covers are in progress across variants as we verify fit and consistency for assembly.
The black nylon front cover is moving through production prep. We are validating fit and consistency so it integrates smoothly into the assembly flow.
8) Connector Cap Production (Orange Connector Caps in Factory Production)
Orange connector caps are in batch production as we tune process consistency to improve yield and assembly stability.
The orange connector cap is currently in production. We are tuning process parameters and monitoring consistency to improve yield and ensure stable assembly fit.
