KVM-GO Production Progress Update #3
Hi everyone,
We’d like to share a new update on KVM-GO. Over the past period, work has continued steadily across production preparation, certification, and our open hardware efforts. It is exciting to see more pieces coming together as KVM-GO moves closer to the next stage.
Recent KVM-GO board iterations and hardware comparison.
Production in Full Swing
KVM-GO production continues to move forward steadily. We have received and arranged new batches of connector boards, and hardware preparation is progressing step by step. From the latest batch photos, you can see that parts are already being prepared in quantity, marking another solid step toward production readiness.
New batches of KVM-GO connector boards prepared for the next production stage.
These batches represent more than just individual prototypes. They show that KVM-GO is moving further into a more organized production phase, where hardware details, batch consistency, and assembly readiness matter more than ever.
It is exciting for us to see these boards coming together. Every round of preparation, testing, and verification helps make the final product more stable and reliable. While there is still work ahead, the overall direction is clear, and progress continues to move forward steadily.
Certified and Ready
We are also happy to share that KVM-GO has now obtained CE, RoHS, and UKCA certifications.
These certifications are an important milestone for us. They confirm that KVM-GO has completed the required compliance process and is better prepared for broader delivery and distribution. Reaching this stage takes time and effort, but it is a meaningful step toward delivering KVM-GO with the quality, safety, and confidence we want.
KVM-GO has obtained CE, RoHS, and UKCA certifications.
For us, certification is not just a box to check. It is part of making sure KVM-GO is ready to be used more widely, with the level of trust and product maturity that our community expects from us.
OSHWA Certification
In addition to compliance certifications, KVM-GO has also been officially certified as open source hardware by OSHWA, with UID: CN000022.
KVM-GO is officially certified open source hardware by OSHWA, UID: CN000022.
This milestone means a lot to us. We have always wanted KVM-GO to be more than just a practical tool. We want it to be something people can inspect, learn from, build on, and share. OSHWA certification reflects that commitment and reinforces the open hardware direction we believe in.
For us, open hardware is not just a label. It is part of how we build. We believe users should be able to understand the product more deeply, explore how it works, and take part in improving and extending it.
Timeline Update for Backers
We want to share an honest picture of where each variant stands and what to expect for shipping.
Build sequence. Our factory has begun production, starting with the HDMI version. The VGA and DisplayPort variants will follow in a second production run. This phasing reflects PCB line capacity and scheduling. All versions are equally prioritized, but running them sequentially ensures each batch gets the quality attention it deserves.
Schedule status. Compared to our earlier estimate, we're looking at approximately two weeks additional time, primarily due to PCB partner capacity constraints. We're actively working with them to secure earlier slots and push each batch forward as soon as possible.
Current estimates (we'll update immediately if anything changes):
- HDMI: Expected ready to ship from our side in ~3 weeks
- VGA and DP: Expected ready ~1 month after HDMI
- Global delivery: Once units reach Mouser's fulfillment network, we estimate mid-June for first-wave HDMI delivery, with VGA/DP following in sequence
We know waiting is frustrating, especially when timelines shift. We appreciate your patience, and we're committed to transparent updates: what's done, what's next, and what's changed. No guessing, no surprises.

Moving Forward
Production, certifications, and OSHWA registration are all moving in the right direction. The section above is the honest companion to that progress: real milestones, with realistic dates.
Thanks again for your support and patience. We will keep sharing visible progress and clear timelines as we move forward.
