Troubleshooting

Why is my screen black when using this cable?

Our converter cable requires external USB power.
If you see a black screen, the most common reason is missing power.

Steps to Fix
  1. Connect the USB Power

    • Plug the USB connector into a powered USB port (such as the Mini-KVM’s switchable USB port or directly into the computer).
    • This powers the internal conversion chip.
  2. Check Resolution Settings

  3. Ensure the VGA source device is set to a supported resolution like 1280×1024 or 1024×768 at 60Hz.
  4. Unsupported resolutions can cause a blank or distorted screen.

  5. Test Another Cable or Adapter

  6. Some third-party VGA-to-HDMI adapters lack proper power draw and may fail.
  7. If possible, try a second cable to confirm.
