Troubleshooting
Why is my screen black when using this cable?
Our converter cable requires external USB power.
If you see a black screen, the most common reason is missing power.
Steps to Fix
-
Connect the USB Power
- Plug the USB connector into a powered USB port (such as the Mini-KVM’s switchable USB port or directly into the computer).
- This powers the internal conversion chip.
-
Check Resolution Settings
- Ensure the VGA source device is set to a supported resolution like 1280×1024 or 1024×768 at 60Hz.
-
Unsupported resolutions can cause a blank or distorted screen.
-
Test Another Cable or Adapter
- Some third-party VGA-to-HDMI adapters lack proper power draw and may fail.
- If possible, try a second cable to confirm.
